GFD&G represented the plaintiff who sued a business partner for fraud and breach of fiduciary duties.
The plaintiff alleged that 1) the defendant had misappropriated monetary contributions made by others to their joint business, and 2) that the defendant had concealed information from the other partners that was material to various partnership decisions. The case was successfully tried by GFD&G’s Robert Ziogas in Roanoke City Circuit Court. The plaintiff was awarded compensatory damages, punitive damages, and attorney fees, which were ultimately recovered from the defendant through post-trial collection proceedings handled by Phillip Lingafelt of GFD&G.
